Request Summary: Child exploitation

Request Category: Private Individuals

Question Number 1:
I wish to make a freedom of information request and would be grateful if you could provide the following information:

The number of referrals made by your NHS Trust to other authorities - such as the police or social services - when there was a suspicion that a child is a victim of exploitation (sexual, criminal, gang-based grooming) for the years 2010 (or earliest available year of data) - 2024 inclusive.

Answer To Question 1:
Safeguarding referrals made for children and young people are not coded or separated into what category of concern is being raised with regards to children.

This information is not held in a reportable format, therefore this would be a manual search back over all the referrals and see what the concern was and this would take more than the time allowance allocated - please see exemption attached

Question Number 2:
The number of risks assessments conducted on children where there was concern that the had been the victim of child sexual exploitation (using the same timeframe as above).

Answer To Question 2:
As with Q1 this would be a manual search so please see exemption attached

- a lot of risk assessments would be made by sexual health where the records are private and a referral would not be made unless there was a safeguarding concern

Question Number 3:
Details of your NHS Trusts' CSE safeguarding arrangements, including work in multi-agency partnerships.

Answer To Question 3:
SFT works closely with the Wiltshire SVPP, BSW ICB, Local Authority

Question Number 4:
The number of staff employed by your NHS Trust who have received training on CSE.

Answer To Question 4:
SFT does in house child exploitation and child exploitation is included within Level 3 safeguarding childrens training. There is an issue with the current system reporting so an accurate number of staff is not available.

Staff can attend external training which the team would not be aware of
