| Answer To Question 3: The Trust's definitions of antisemitism, Islamophobia, and racism towards Arabs and Palestinians are directly based on the guidance provided by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) regarding unlawful harassment and discrimination under the Equality Act 2010. Antisemitism: Harassment and discrimination against Jewish people are illegal under the Equality Act 2010 (Religion/Belief or Race) Islamophobia: Harassment and discrimination against Muslims are illegal under the Equality Act 2010 (Religion or Belief) Racism towards Arabs and Palestinians: This is unlawful under the Equality Act 2010, protecting against discrimination based on race or ethnic origin. It can overlap with Islamophobia targeting Arab or Palestinian Muslim identity. | |
