In the current challenging times in the NHS, I would like to understand the cost of the public accountability provided by Councils of Governors in NHS Foundation Trusts.

Can you please advise:

• The size of your Trust by turnover

 
Answer To Question 1:
£416m in 24-25
 
Question Number 2:
• The size of your Council of Governors, total number of governors split by appointed, public and staff

1. 15 public governors

2. 5 staff governors

Question Number 3:
• The cost of support provided to the Council, annually – the number of staff providing that support and their role/banding, estimated hours and cost for each member of staff, subdivided into induction and training; support to Council meetings and committees/working groups in delivery of their statutory responsibilities including preparation of papers; membership engagement

 
Answer To Question 3:
One Band 5 Membership Manager full time supports the Council of Governors and the membership function. Agenda for Change salary scales are publicly available.

We do not hold the information on how the role is split into the stated functions. This is based on the priorities for the Trust.

• Frequency of elections to the Council.

Two elections in every three years.
